There is nothing better than a 10.12-megapixel camera at any price. Even with the HD is 2.1mps.
If you have a good manual controls and XLR audio inputs, try some of the biggest pro DV camcorder on Ebay, like a Sony PD150 or Panasonic DVX100 or something. Many good deals because everyone is in this movement to High Definition. Still not exactly cheap ...
